Day-Use Onsen – Indoor Bath
pH is a unit necessary to understand what is dissolved in water and its properties.
In addition to the properties of hot springs, known as "spring quality," you can learn even more about them by paying attention to the pH value, which can be broadly divided into three categories: "acidic," "neutral," and "alkaline."
A higher pH value indicates a more alkaline hot spring, while a lower pH value indicates a more acidic hot spring.
Alkaline hot springs are defined as those with a pH of 7.5 to 10 or higher. The whitening hot spring with a pH of 10.3 is classified as a strongly alkaline spring.
